Introduction
WorldClient is a web-based email solution designed to offer users
full email functionality through the use of their favorite web browser.
All of their email folders reside on the server so that they have access
to everything as if they were at the office. In fact, because of WorldClient’s
extensive feature set, users can use it as their only email client instead
of in addition to others. WorldClient can easily hold its own against
traditional email clients while providing the added bonus of enabling
users to access their email from anywhere at anytime.
A few Application ideas:
WorldClient allows mobile employees to access their email from anywhere. Remember, WorldClient is not workstation dependent so "mobile" can also mean traveling across the building!
ISP's can use WorldClient to offer web-based email services to their customer base.
WorldClient is ideal for the web-based email providers that make their living from advertising banners!
A few Administrator benefits:
No need to configure and maintain individual mail clients.
Customize the look of WorldClient to your corporate needs or the needs of your customers.
Monitor the use of disk space along with who, what, when and why!
Web-based remote administration. Edit any and all of your WorldClient settings (and your users' settings). Create, delete, and monitor accounts. Kill a user's session, view WorldClient's log file, and more. All from anywhere anytime.
A few User benefits:
Seemlessly Integrated with MDaemon Email Server so that new messages are accessible almost instantly.
Full email functionality wherever you find a browser.
WorldClient interface is available in 19 languages (MDaemon Pro only).
Personal and global address books, folders, filters, send/receive file attachments, collect mail from multiple accounts, and almost everything else you might need.
System
Requirements
WorldClient is a multi-threaded Win32 application that accompanies MDaemon
on Windows 9x and NT 4/2000 or later servers and requires Winsock 2 or
later. WorldClient integrates with MDaemon for incoming and outgoing mail,
and, if you want to provide service to users outside of your local network,
a permanent Internet connection with a static IP address is also required.
The amount of required system resources is contingent upon your particular needs: your number of WorldClient users, the level of email traffic you wish to support, the speed of your connection, and so forth. However, as a starting point we recommend at least a Pentium class computer with 16 MB RAM for Windows 9x and 32 MB RAM for NT/2000. We also recommend a minimum of 20 MB free hard disk space.
Installation
WorldClient may be installed by running the MDaemon installer and selecting
the WorldClient checkbox as one of the components to be selected.
