Audio CD support
Setting it up
Audio CDs are currently supported only under Windows NT, 2000, XP and newer. You must have Administrator priviliges
(be an Administrator of the system) to use it. In options there is a new tab added named "Device access". There you have
two check boxes named SPTI and ASPI. This are two types of accessing the CDROM drive directly. Direct access is needed if
you want to work with audio CDs as with normal wave files.
SPTI is currently the only access supported. ASPI is present only to be able to get feedback in case a lot of users
will not be able to use SPTI. The detect button will tell you what type of access is supported on your system.
Ignore options
In order to compare .wav files and calculate hashes of them special option "When processing .wav files ignore"
has been added to "General" tab. This option tells CDCheck to skip various parts of wav file. This is useful because
extracting .wav files from audio cd and burning them back does not produce the same wav files. They usually have
zeros added at beginning and maybe some trimmed at the end (for more information visit http://www.cdrfaq.org/).
If you do not have this problems it is recommended that
you leave the option to "Nothing". Otherwise set it to one of the last two options. The last one is provided for
compatibility with a good free extraction software EAC.
